Public Realm Project in Hartlepool Breathes New Life into Historic Street Network
With a mix of natural stone chosen for quality, durability and heritage, BBS worked with project partners to revitalise a key area of the town centre.
Working closely with clients Hartlepool Borough Council and Seymour Engineering on this major public realm project, BBS was commissioned to provide a palette of natural stone that would transform the public space at Church Square and the connecting area of Church Street.
With funding secured from The Heritage Lottery Fund, Hartlepool Borough Council’s vision to create a high quality space to restore Church Square to its former glory and create a vibrant area of shops, bars and restaurants in Church Street has now come to fruition.
Using a blend of buff, grey and red Granite for benches, steps, tactile, kerbs, channel and paving, BBS’s natural stone knowledge and technical expertise helped to ensure that the transformation was in keeping with this historic area.
