Bespoke Black Granite Boulders for South Kensington, London
BBS has supplied a selection of prominent bespoke boulders surround some of London's most prestigious landmarks.
Home to several major museums and academic establishments, including the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Science Museum and the Natural History Museum, BBS is proud to have been able to assist The Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea by providing a selection of street furniture pieces.
The work incorporated a total of 46 Diamond Black granite boulders/cubes, installed along local streets to help mark parking spaces and prevent vehicles from mounting certain pavements. Large granite boulders like these are becoming more popular in public realm spaces.
The cube specification was for 790mm x 790mm x 940mm height, with sawn and bush hammered sides, hand hewn top with 20mm wide sawn border to the top four edges, and a 10mm x 10mm splay to the four vertical corners.
