BBS wins large private house Portland masonry contract

In late December BBS won a £350,000 contract to supply high-quality Portland limestone masonry as part of the construction of an exclusive new private house in Cheshire.

Portland Stone is a highly regarded limestone. The use of this durable UK natural stone is extensive, and has been used on many high profile buildings, in particular in and around London. Click here to read more about it and see images from previous projects.

We offer a design service to help take architectural drawings from the concept stage through to finalising the individual component details, our draughtsman is a qualified mason and his knowledge and experience is perfect for projects like this.

This contract involves working closely with the project architect and contractor to finalise the stone component design details as shown in the image below.

-BBS also assist with complex landscaping projects where, for example, radius / bespoke-designed paving needs to be fully detailed for accurate production purposes.-

We will then be project-managing the manufacture and supply to the house. First deliveries will commence in February with final completion of the project being anticipated in early 2018 due to the size and complexity. We can’t wait to see the drawings come to life.
