Feeding the Future

BBS Brick and Stone Ltd is extremely proud to publish the charitable work we have been undertaking and will continue to undertake in India.

As part of our Corporate and Social Responsibility BBS work with one of our supply chain partners in Jaipur to supply meals to children through Akshaya Patra. This internationally acclaimed charity is the world’s largest NGO run mid-day meals programme in India. The Akshaya Patra Foundation caters to feed those children who hail from challenging socio-economic backgrounds. It addresses long and short-term hunger by filling the nutritional gap.

The organisation is present in 52 locations spread across 12 states and two union territories that operate from centralised and decentralised kitchens. It operates with the vision that “No child in India shall be deprived of education because of hunger” and by 2025, it aims to feed five million children every day.

Akshaya Patra literally is Sanskrit for a ‘pot of food that never runs out.’

The vision from BBS to help feed children makes us part of a group which feeds more than 1.8 million children daily with a nutritious meal, keeping the children healthy and the future bright. BBS have joined the programme by donating a meal for every m2 of natural stone procured through our supply chain in Jaipur.
