On Wednesday 7th August, 2024 BBS teamed up with Jaguar Landrover to extend an existing car parking area, paint family rooms and stain stable blocks for Venture Riding for the Disabled (RDA) based in Hannington, Northants.
As part of their existing Corporate and Social Responsibility schemes (CSR) both BBS and Jaguar Landrover sent in teams of willing volunteers to ensure the jobs were completed in 1 day, it was carried out in a similar way to the BBC’s DIY SOS.
Armed with wheelbarrows and rakes and some help from the JCB, part of the team moved a massive 30 tons of aggregate covering an area of land precleared and covered with a weed suppressant sheeting. Timber sleepers were added to the edge of the new car park area to form a protective barrier to the family seating area. The other team members stained and painted their way through the day, and trimmed hedges, making the Venture RDA base look incredible and ready for the new riding season which starts back on 31st August, 2024.
Venture RDA have also been able to enlist the services of Howdens Joinery who will be fitting a new kitchen to the family room, enabling Venture RDA to offer an extended service to all families using the riding centre.
Venture RDA have extended a huge thankyou to Jaguar Landrover, BBS Brick and Stone Ltd and Howdens for the amazing work carried out by an amazing set of selfless volunteers, and look forward to seeing the new kitchen in the coming months.
