BBS at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2014
Published 18th June 2014BBS were significantly and successfully represented at the 2014 RHS Chelsea Flower Show in London having worked closely with the landscape architects and a partner quarry & manufacturer to supply a range of natural stone types and products for the award winning Welcome to Yorkshire artisan garden.
Alistair Baldwin Associates landscape architects approached BBS to suggest and source various stone products that helped to represent the celebration of the world famous Tour de France cycle race starting and touring through Yorkshire in 2014 along with embracing the traditional countryside characteristics of Yorkshire.
A & D Calvert are a close partner quarry owner and stone supplier based in North Yorkshire who very kindly manufactured & supplied a range of superb traditional-style products including: rustic stone-slab steps; dry-stone walling; ashlar walling; copings; random stone blocks; an eye-catching curved ‘floating’ bench seat; plus a contrasting blue-grey stone used as stone planks around a large dish style pond.
The garden was well received winning a silver medal from the judges, however most satisfaction was gained from winning the prestigious People’s Choice award having been voted as Best Artisan Garden by the public.
