BBS Natural Stone Supplies The Famous Titanic Quarter
Published 15th February 2016BBS Natural Stone work as a supplier throughout the UK and we’re delighted to have been involved in such an iconic landmark in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
The Titanic Belfast is a 6-floor building built on the site where RMS Titanic was designed and built and has a pretty Titanic public realm surrounding the site! It is used as a state-of-the-art visitor centre to tell the story of the Titanic and can also hold events, dinners and weddings.
The visitor journey starts at the turn of the century to learn why Belfast was so industrialised. From there, the story of Titanic is told: its’ inception, early construction, launch and finally the tragic maiden voyage. The story is then brought up to date with the discovery of the wreck and into the future with live links to contemporary undersea exploration.
Such an iconic landmark required a high-quality, long-lasting public realm and so BBS Natural Stone was chosen to offer the highest quality granites available imported from China for paving, steps and kerbs.
BBS Natural Stone enjoyed working with all parties involved from the early design stages and as always the project was completed on-time, on-budget and to the complete satisfaction of the architect and the contractor.
